Titan Floors Wood LVT

Fitting Instructions

Before you start

Titan Floors 5G Click LVT can be fitted quickly and easily without adhesive, although adhesive can be used if you prefer. When fitting in areas subject to heavy load, or excessive heat or direct sunlight, it is recommended to glue down your flooring to ensure a more permanent fit.
Fully acclimatise your LVT by removing the packaging and leaving it in the room where it is to be installed for 24 hours prior to installation. We recommend you keep the room at a constant temperature between 20 to 25C during this period.

We recommend you mix tiles when fitting from multiple packs to give a more natural appearance to your flooring.

In areas that are to be loose-laid (without adhesive) we recommend you fit over an LVT click underlay.
Subfloors

Although Titan Floors 5G Click LVT is water-resistant, it cannot be used as a moisture barrier. Your subfloor must be completely dry prior to installation.

Subfloors must be structurally sound, solid, stable, level, plumb, and true to a tolerance in plane of 6mm in 4m. Cracks and holes must be filled or levelled with self-levelling compound or similar. Any raised patches or bumps should be sanded down. Any carpet staples, grippers, adhesive residue etc must be removed. Bumps, voids and other obstacles can interfere with the locking mechanism, and must be fixed prior to installation.

Titan Floors LVT can be fitted over existing firm floors like Lino, PVC etc, but all textile floors should be removed. When laying over ceramic tiles, you must fill in the grout line with self-levelling compound or similar.

Measuring & Planning

When fitting any plank or tile flooring it is always recommended to start on the longest wall, with the longest edge of the plank running along the length of the room. Make sure you leave an expansion gap of at least 0.5cm around the edge of the room, especially when loose laying.

Fitting

Titan Floors 5G Click LVT allows each tile to simply click into place, allowing for fast and simple installation. As stated above, it is highly recommended you mix tiles from each pack to achieve a more uniform appearance throughout the room.

Use of a pull bar and tapping block is recommended to ensure a successful install.

Titan Floors 5G Click LVT provides a very tight fit. Proper care must be taken to ensure all seams are tight at the end of installation. An unprofessional installation or use of improper tools can result in damage to the 5G locking profiles.

Adhesives

Titan Floors 5G Click LVT is primarily a DIY product if fitted without adhesive. We recommend that if you do fit with an adhesive that you seek professional advice from a fitter about the types of adhesives available as heat, moisture, and sunlight can be deciding factors.

Do not install on concrete floors that are excessively cold or radiant-heated floors that exceed 25C. Radiant heating should be turned off 12 hours prior to installation.

The trowel size to be used is a U notch trowel of 1/32” deep, by 1/16” wide, by 1/32” apart spacing between notches. After fitting, roll with a 100lb roller.
